​​Founded in 2024, Contemporary Dance Lab was created by Michaella Ho in her senior year of Juilliard Dance. Drawing upon her history and connection to many other Juilliard graduates and current students, she envisioned a program that could communicate the challenging landscape of pursuing a professional dance career and provide tools to dancers to combat that.  Our faculty of diverse and non-linear upbringings come together to implement the improvements we wish to see in the dance world and share the tools that have led us to our success.

 

Since its beginnings in 2024, Contemporary Dance Lab has held two week-long summer intensives in Markham, Ontario, at Elite Danceworx, a 4-day winter intensive in Boca Raton, FL, and a 3-day pop-up workshop in Palm Beach, FL. CDL has also been invited to teach our programming at Dancing Soma in Markham, Ontario, and Legacy Dance Company in Glenwood Springs, CO. 

 

Contemporary Dance Lab is designed for competition, classical or pre-professional dancers who are passionate about pursuing dance as a career. CDL programs are one of a kind in its training method dedicated towards concert contemporary work. Our programs serve as a stepping stone for local dancers who aspire to pursue a professional dance career. Contemporary Dance Lab continues to bring working & emerging professionals to young dancers through intensives and workshops all over North America.
