At Contemporary Dance Lab, we are dedicated to bridging the gap between accomplished dancers and aspiring talent. Our dynamic platform fosters an enriching environment where dancers can connect, learn, and thrive in the world of concert contemporary dance. We empower young dancers by providing them with the knowledge and resources needed to pursue successful careers in this vibrant art form. Through our specialized Dance Labs, we offer invaluable insights and training designed to support pre-professionals and young dancers on their journey to artistic fulfillment.

Summer Intensive

CDL’s annual week-long intensive offers training in contemporary, repertory, improvisation, and ballet, culminating in a new creation with a faculty choreographer. Alongside classes, students engage in group and 1-on-1 discussions that share professional knowledge beyond the studio. The week concludes with an informal showing for friends and family, paired with a parent-focused discussion.

POP UP LAB

CDL on tour! The pop-up lab offers dancers a glimpse of the training and experience offered at a full CDL intensive! During this lab, we will focus on various topics in contemporary dance, including floorwork, improvisation, repertory and technique!Dancers who attend CDL pop-up labs qualify to win a scholarship to our annual Summer Intensive.

PRIVATE WORKSHOP

Private workshops bring the intimate CDL experience to individual studios. Through our blend of training and dialogue, dancers are immersed in rigorous and supportive work that helps them discover their artistic voice. These workshops can be hosted at any time during your season depending on CDL Faculty and guest availability! Studios can request certain contemporary topics to be focused on such as repertoire, contemporary partnering, or composition techniques.
